To be starting this new endeavor doesn’t seem real to me. I can honestly say that I am not a technologically savvy person. My husband jokes about my old person tendencies every single day. The only real social media outlet I have is Instagram. I literally just re-opened my Facebook page 2 days ago after a 4 year hiatus. I feel as though I am a decade behind everything interwebs related. With all that said, I am going at this with all guns blazing. I have been known to use the phrase, “onwards and upwards,” and that’s what I plan to do!
So to answer my question, “How did I get here?” let me try to give you guys a cliff note version. When it came to figuring out what I wanted to do in life, I never could make up my mind. When people have asked me what I went to school for I was always embarrassed to list off everything I never actually finished. The list goes as follows: criminal justice, psychology, law enforcement, veterinary assisting, social work, veterinary technician, and psychology for the second time around. The one field of interest I actually completed was becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician, which I made a career in for some time. Unfortunately, I ended up leaving that career because I got burnt out. I never thought that would have happened to me, but it did. It snuck up on me over time, and it wasn’t until by husband pointed it out that I actually put two and two together as to why I was so unhappy. It was a tough decision, but definitely not one I regret.
When I finally decided to end my career in the Veterinary field, I had completely NO idea what to do. Now, that decision threw a huge wrench into my world because changing careers for me at almost 30 years old meant that I guess I didn’t have the rest of my life figured out. I’d say I do just fine with improvising in life, but I definitely do best with a drawn out plan. Changing careers was not in my original plan but everything that has happened in the last two years has only opened up my eyes to what I truly love to do. I love to help people. I want to be able to share my stories so they can help others with their own story. I hope that my stories can give someone the hope they need when they feel as though no one could ever understand what they are going through. And that is what this blog is going to be about. My stories will be about my personal experiences and knowledge I have learned along the way, which has given me freedom to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
